Black Doom is an overarching antagonist in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series by Archie Comics. He is an alien warlord ruling over the Black Arms race. He planned to conquer Sonic's world and use its population as a food source for his kind, using Professor Gerald Robotnik's assistance for said ends.

Biography[]
Pre-Super Genesis Wave[]
Black Doom was the leader of the Black Arms, a hive-minded race from the Black Comet that invaded planets and devoured their population. One day, he encountered Gerald Robotnik, an Overlander from Mobius, and offered his assistance in creating the ultimate life form to help cure his granddaughter Maria. However, Black Doom was actually planning to use Shadow as a herald for his invasion of Mobius 50 years later, prompting Gerald to modify his creation so he would protect the planet when time would come.
50 years later, however, the Black Arms were caught up in a war against the Xorda, delaying Black Doom's scheduled return to Mobius.
Post-Super Genesis Wave[]
Black Doom's history was altered by the Super Genesis Wave to be roughly the same as his game counterpart's. 50 years after donating his blood to create Shadow, he would invade Sonic's world and briefly sway Shadow to his side. In the end, however, his plan for world conquest was foiled when Shadow turned on his creator and killed him. The surviving Black Arms would learn of Black Doom's death, and the leadership over the race would be taken over by Black Death.
